The Jewish Federation’s Foundation Program is a powerful engine for change - transforming generosity into meaningful impact, both locally and across the globe. Through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), the Jewish Foundation partners with individuals and families to direct resources where they matter most, on a local, national, and global basis.
Through the Life & Legacy program, supporters commit to after lifetime gifts to 14 local participating organizations, including the Jewish Federation. Gifts are transferred through a will, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance. The Life & Legacy program is underwritten and administered by the Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

Federation Foundation at Work: Strengthening Communities Worldwide
The Jewish Federation’s Foundation Program, currently chaired by Mindy Hirt, is a powerful engine for change - transforming generosity into meaningful impact, both locally and across the globe. Through donor-advised funds, the Jewish Foundation partners with individuals and families to direct grants to entities whose operations align with the goals and objectives of the donors. Along with specific Federation grants, these additional resources have a multiplier effect to strengthen agencies, schools, and Jewish and secular nonprofit organizations in Nashville, Israel, and communities around the world.
The Foundation’s overall impact is amplified by the careful stewardship of our endowed assets. We work with SEI, a leading asset manager with 450+ clients worldwide and $330 billion in assets under management. The Jewish Federation also generated revenue through investment earnings, grants made to it by DAFs, and management fees - a combination of resources that enhances our overall financial health. Together, these income streams allow the Federation to cast a wide and responsive net, addressing urgent needs while investing in long-term solutions.
