One Happy Camper

First-Time Campership Awarded by Jewish Federation

The Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville offers funding to children in our community who wish to attend Jewish overnight camp for the first time. One Happy Camper program is an outreach initiative for children who are not currently receiving an immersive, daily Jewish experience.

Children who attend Jewish day school or yeshiva are not eligible for this incentive program.

PJ Library First-Time Campership Awards

PJ Library is offering First-time Campership Awards for Summer 2024. This scholarship is open to students who would like to attend camp for the first time.

Summer camp can be a transformative experience, providing children with the opportunity to make memories and friendships that last a lifetime. PJ Library wants to help children attend Jewish overnight camp for the first time by offering awards to qualifying families and is one of 100 funders of the Foundation for Jewish Camp’s One Happy Camper® (OHC) program.
Please review the eligibility details to learn how to apply for a campership award through One Happy Camper.

Financial Aid

The Jewish Federation provides Financial Aids to families with inadequate income to send their children to Jewish Overnight Camps.

Before applying to financial-needs based grants at the Federation, please contact your synagogue, camp,  and the Jewish Children’s Regional Service (JCRS) in New Orleans (800-729-5277 or Camp Coordinator).

As a last resource (you must contact and apply to both congregation and JCRS before), contact Becky Gunn, CFO at the Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville.

Zimmerman Grant

The Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville wants to ensure the continued existence of a dynamic and diverse Jewish community. It is the intent of the Federation to encourage Jewish Students to visit Israel.  In order to make this possible, the Federation provides incentive grants for Israel programs to qualified student candidates.

Grants are awarded on the basis of the applicant’s motivations and achievements, as measured by the successful completion of the application form.
