About Teen Philanthropy B'nai Tzedek
The B'nai Tzedek program establishes a Foundation account in the name of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah age teen and has proven to be attractive to teens, who are learning the value of Tikkun Olam, the repair of the world.
Here’s how it works: the teen contributes a minimum of $125, which is matched by $250 from the Feldman-Hassenfeld Fund for B'nai Tzedek and $125 from the Jewish Foundation. The teen then starts with a fund in the amount of at least $500 and a new philanthropist is born!
B'nai Tzedeks meet every year around Purim to make their annual recommendations to various charitable organizations. In 2013, the B’nai Tzedek program reached over 300 members!
