This past month the JCC's Capital Campaign, to invest $6.5 million in much needed facility updates and improvements to meet the growing needs of our local community, launched. With the Gordon JCC being home to BBYO, Maccabi and other Teen Programming, it is important to layer in what our role in this community campaign is in this year's J-Serve project.
One of the big missions that the campaign has is to "Beautify our space through enhancements and efficiencies" and while there aren't many teens dipping into their pocket to contribute monetarily towards the capital campaign they can contribute their time and labor.
Another is to "enhance the member experience and expand programming by building capacity", with the long term plans of creating an inclusive and improved space for all the teens at the JCC, it is important to begin showing their contribution towards this huge move forward for our center.
